First to all of you I wish happy "Makarsankranti"."Til Gul Gya ani God God Bola" in Marathi which means every one should speak sweetly after eating a sweet made out of seseme and jaggary. A seseme seeds gives vit A with oil which made your bones tough with micro nutrients like Mn, Mg, Calcium and others. A massage with seseme oil and its powder gives glow to skin. Jaggary keeps away from asthema.
South India celebrate 'Pongal' i.e Khichadi made out of pulses and rice. Beauty of this is pongal is cooked at everyones courtyard in morning sunshine. Punjab celebrates 'Lohari'.North India made the sweets with black seseme and khajoor jaggary.
All over Indis this revoltion of Sun from sunsign or rashi Saggitrius to Capricon is celebrated to energized oneself for year to come.
There is also a tradition of Haldikumkum and donation to needy on this day.
This revolution is also called UTTRAYAN i.e sun is moving from southern to northern direction.
Now day will start increasing by til til kan means min by min.
This what the unity in Diversity of my country.
